Ohhhhh Vienna 🎶

Image
I found it hard to warm to Vienna because of how much we enjoyed Prague, however I did fall for its grandour and charm. We spent a lot of time laying on the grass in its parks soaking up the sunshine but then very quickly moving to the shade! I also love public transport in cities like this, we bought a 72hr ticket which meant we could hop on and off any metro, tram, or bus whenever we wanted and it all just runs so quick and smooth I don't think we ever waited more than 5 minutes. I could happily ride around on underground's all day long.  Our ticket came in useful as we headed out to Schönbrunn Palace for the day, once the summer residence of Austria’s imperial family, its now a huge tourist attraction and tourists we are. Entrance to the Palace will cost you, and there's add ons for various areas, but you can visit the huge gardens with its fountains, rose gardens, and Gloriette for free and we basically spent the whole day there. The only thing we did pay for was the ma...

Prague - Buildings, Beers, and Bobsleighs

Image
We love Prague, hence why we decided to start here. I'm writing this just as we depart the main bus station on our first Flixbus of the trip, something which I'm surprisingly looking forward to!  Our time in Prague saw us explore the city's parks and gardens all of which are surrounded by the most spectacular buildings, at every turn another one appears. We spotted Red Squrriels in Petřín Park and Coypus (or Nutria) on Park Legií, which we initially mistook for beavers and seem to be becoming a problem in the city. We spent a lot of time on or alongside the river which showcases many of its grand buildings and if Matt and I can get on some sort of boat we will do, this time we chose a pedalo. One of our highlights would definitely be the Letná Lookout Beer Garden, which we went to both days as the weather was being so good to us. It gives wonderful views of the city and the river, serves beer, and just had the most relaxed chilled out atmosphere goin...

Goodbye

This is my first ever blog post so don't expect too much!  This isn't going to be a travel blog, my aim isn't to become an expert on world travel and to give out advice on places to go and how to go about it. It is instead just going to be a look into Matts and my life for a little while as we embark on our next adventure. It's for those who know us, to keep you all in the loop and, as many have asked, to let you all know we are safe ❤  So GOODBYE!  This is mainly a goodbye to the North East, to Great Ayton, and to the life we were living up to now. We moved up to the North York Moors area around 7 years ago, and I've spent about 4 and half of that in Great Ayton, and we loved it there. Being not far from the North Yorkshire coast and having the National Park on our doorstep has been a pleasure. I doubt we'll ever find anywhere else quite like it, I certainly won't find a town with a ukuele band so welcoming! I definitely found driving away the down the A172...
