Goodbye

This is my first ever blog post so don't expect too much!

This isn't going to be a travel blog, my aim isn't to become an expert on world travel and to give out advice on places to go and how to go about it. It is instead just going to be a look into Matts and my life for a little while as we embark on our next adventure. It's for those who know us, to keep you all in the loop and, as many have asked, to let you all know we are safe ❤

So GOODBYE!
This is mainly a goodbye to the North East, to Great Ayton, and to the life we were living up to now. We moved up to the North York Moors area around 7 years ago, and I've spent about 4 and half of that in Great Ayton, and we loved it there. Being not far from the North Yorkshire coast and having the National Park on our doorstep has been a pleasure. I doubt we'll ever find anywhere else quite like it, I certainly won't find a town with a ukuele band so welcoming! I definitely found driving away the down the A172 with a rainbow arching across the Cleveland Hill more emotional than I was expecting.

The last month has been a fantastic combination of friends and family alongside stressful trip planning, which has been much appreciated. From a rainy camping trip in Cumbria, to a sunshine filled stay at Bransdale Mill, and to a gorgeous wedding with the most wonderful people. We're very lucky to know and have such lovely people in our lives!

The posts on here will likely be very photo heavy as it will be the best way to share our travels with you! The last photo I want to share here was taken by a lovely lady called Bridget at one of our Abseiling events at Roseberry Topping. I have loved being a Ranger with the National Trust, I've been very lucky to do a wide range of things across a wonderful area but mostly I have spent time with such wonderful people who are dedicated and passionate about the great outdoors. Although my relationship with the National Trust has been a bumpy one at times, I leave with friends for life as its hard to not forge bonds with those you get stuck the mud with on freezing cold days and those you sit in sunny fields with enjoying the view at lunch. Thank you and goodbye (for now!).

Watch this space for where we are next, and hopefully there will be some laughs along the way 😄
Lisa (and Matt) Xxx
