Another couple of Pommies 🇬🇧

We spent a lovely day in Booderee National Park, where we were warned by other walkers of snakes but didn't see any. I was pretty happy about that but Matt was slightly disappointed with his camera in hand. We then got the snorkeling gear out for the first time at Murrays beach, it literally felt like paradise with silky white sand and crystal clear waters. The sea was quite choppy so the snorkeling was hard work but we manged to spot plenty of different fish under the waves.

We then drove down to Bendalong where we knew we could park up free for the night right by the beach. We had a stroll, still in our swimwear from earlier and decided to have a dip. There was a small crowd at the far end of the beach and as we got closer we saw they were crowded round lots of stingrays in the water, and everyone was swimming with them. Before we knew it there were three or four surrounding us which spooked me at first but they were super chill and friendly. After a bit of research we found they were short-tail or smooth stingrays, they're always there and have got used to people feeding them and even stroking them. We were happy with having a good look. We had lovely spot for the night right by the beach and made burgers for tea.

The next day we did more coastal walking, bumping into our first group of Kangeroos and experiencing this amazing coastline. We visited a beach aptly called Pretty beach, however most the beaches we are visiting could easily be called this too.

We needed to keep on the move, so headed down to Broulee in the search of a shower a place to park for the night. We found both, and also found the wonderful Broulee Brewhouse! We arrive just too late to join in with the quiz but still had a good time sampling their drinks and cheeseburgers.

The next day we explored Narooma seeing pelicans, more stingrays, and plenty of fur seals in the beautifully blue water. The sun was shining so we spent a while in the sea and Matt enjoyed a proper coffee. We got called a 'Couple of Pommies', I think for the second time, which sent us down a worm hole of where that orginates from. My favourite being that British people go red like pomegranates when they arrive in the Australian sun! We carried on driving to park for the night at a free spot in Bega, where the light was lovely in the evening over the river nearby.

We then headed inland to Kosciuszko National Park, I'm going to tell you about that in a different post because this one is getting quite long!

Lots of love,
Lisa and Matt 💕
