Bali - Time for friends and family 🥰
Bali is definitely the place to chill out for a while. We arrived and headed straight to Senur where our accomodation had a lovely garden area and a quirky outside bathroom. Our first morning we were woken at 7:26am by an earthquake shaking the building around us. At a magnitude of 4.6, it was quite surreal but luckily no damage and by breakfast everyone was acting like nothing had happened. We spent a lovely day at the beach, lying in the sunshine and swimming in the sea. Since visiting the Harry Potter themed cafe in Hanoi we've been listening to the audio books, which are a great thing to have in your ear while you lie in the sunshine.
The next day we moved on to Ubud and made it to the Monkey Forest in the afternoon which is a lovely forest area full temples and of course, plenty of Long-tailed Macaques. We were there at the right time for a performance on their open stage telling the story of young man called Lubdaka. There was great music and dancing, and then lots of people dress as animals, I enjoyed it alot.
The next day we went south, back towards to the airport, as we had plans to see friends and family! We met our good friends Dip and Elly down at the Uluwatu Temple, who happened to be honeymooning in Bali so we had to say hello. The Hindu temple is in the most gorgeous location sat on the cliff edge over beautiful blue seas.
After we headed to Bingin beach where we sat with drinks in the sunshine and enjoyed the company of friends, it was also Ellys 30th birthday so we needed to cheers!
Our hostel was a 10 minute walk from the airport, planned perfectly to pick-up my cousin Rebecca the next morning. We headed out with our sign as part of Lisa and Matt's Airport pick-up service, and made it back to the hostel in time for a freshen up before checking out and heading for our boat to Lombok and time for adventures with Rebecca.
