Oscars Coffee Morning ⭐️
Before rattling on about what we're up to, I wanted to mention the first SUDC UK fundraising event my Sister-in-law and Brother, with the help of many others, have put on. They organised a coffee morning at Pelsall's Community Centre, this weekend just gone, in memory of Oscar and to spread awareness of the charity. The morning involved plenty of tea and cake and a huge tombola with a great range of prizes on offer. I've heard from my family that there was an amazing turn out and it was really quite a special morning, a massive £4180.41 was raised. Thank you to all those who participated and went along, we can't wait to be involved in events in the future.
I got quite upset that me and Matt were not there, even though I know that this is a decision we made. Having left our jobs, packed up lives, and deciding to a travel for a year, we will simply never be this free again. Also, having spent 3 months back in the Midlands with no proper home or jobs, it was something we couldn't sustain. However, it does mean I miss my family like crazy especially at this time.
Oscar is still at the forefront of my mind everyday. I see him on every beach we visit, digging a big hole with my brother, buried up to his neck in sand, or trying to keep hold of seemingly hundreds of Harry Potter Top Trump cards in the breeze. I'm happy to have these memories but it's impossible to not wish that we had more.
I'll keep posting about the events for Oscar and information about SUDC, with the internet the world isn't actually as big as it sometimes feels! 🌎
Lots of love,
Lisa and Matt 💕
