Goodbye

This is my first ever blog post so don't expect too much!  This isn't going to be a travel blog, my aim isn't to become an expert on world travel and to give out advice on places to go and how to go about it. It is instead just going to be a look into Matts and my life for a little while as we embark on our next adventure. It's for those who know us, to keep you all in the loop and, as many have asked, to let you all know we are safe ❤  So GOODBYE!  This is mainly a goodbye to the North East, to Great Ayton, and to the life we were living up to now. We moved up to the North York Moors area around 7 years ago, and I've spent about 4 and half of that in Great Ayton, and we loved it there. Being not far from the North Yorkshire coast and having the National Park on our doorstep has been a pleasure. Vehicle maintenance and back to Sydney 🔧

We arrived in Newcastle on another rainy morning but all was good as Vanny passed her inspection, which we were very relieved about. We went for a celebratory swim at the Newcastle Ocean Baths (just me and Matt not Vanny), but don't let the sunny photo deceive you, there was a cool breeze so it was a quick dip. After, we wandered along to Nobbys lighthouse watching the rain clouds ascend on us again.  We drove down the coast to stop at Norah Head for the night, but as we arrived in the rain the driverside window, which had always been a bit dodgy, decided to detach from its winding mechanism. We managed to get the glass mostly into position for the night but this was our new next day priority.  We woke to a clearer morning by the sea treating us to wonderful rainbow which was a welcome splash of colour! Signing off ✍️

Well, what a crazy time its' been. We're currently sat at Munich Airport waiting for our 3rd flight that gets us back to Brum. We left Auckland about 32 hours ago and have managed about 5 hours sleep on our last flight, but we are getting there! We flew with Air New Zealand first then Lufthansa, and we definitely feel there was a higher quality of customer service from Air New Zealand. Maybe I could get a job flying with different airlines and rating them! Although there is sadness that it's all over, we're definitely feeling good about returning. It was always only for a year and the next adventure is already waiting for us, who knows where we're going to end up within the next year or so. We've go so much to look forward to, from the second we land there are birthdays, weddings, holidays, alongside getting back to the day to day and sleeping in a normal bed. I'm also excited to start reading this blog back myself to remind us of everything we've done! ...
