Ljubljana - City of dragons 🐲
Ljubljana was wonderful! We've had such a lovely time and we unfortunately only had one full day. Firstly, the Capsule Hostel was perfect for what we needed, but I think would be tricky in rainy weather. As we're just having constant sunshine, we could be out all day and then go back just to sleep.

We found Ljubljana a very picturesque and green city, especially along the river, and as capitals go it isn't that big so we just wondered around enjoying it all.

There is a big city park called Tivoli Park which has rows and rows of photos showing you all the different things you might see, from bees to bats and from fountains to flowers. After this we spent a while watching two red squrriels chasing each other around.

As the dragon is the symbol of Ljubljana, they are dragons everywhere in the city, there's a bridge called Dragon bridge, they're along the river, on buildings, and they're even on some drain covers. I enjoyed looking for dragons.

When we stumbled across a large screen for the Euros, and knowing it was the semi-finals that evening which had England vs Netherlands, we knew we should return later. We're glad we did, England won and even though there seemed to be a lot more Netherland fans in the crowd the atmosphere was electric.

In Prešeren Plaza, one of the main squares which is named after a national poet, they have an feature where in rains constantly. It started as a one off art installation but everyone liked it so much they have it every summer, and it was a welcome change! There is also a great view from the castle, which has plenty of trees green space to enjoy.

We're now in Bled and have already had a swim! We're here for a bit longer than we've been elsewhere so expect a delay before the next post 😎
Lots of love,
