Budapest and Balatonfüred - Time to chill 😎
We stopped for one night in Budapest and before carrying on to Balatonfüred, on the shores of Lake Balaton. We trekked around the city on the one afternoon we had and stumbled across Szimpla Kert, a complex of different bars in different areas of what seemed to be a derelict building. There was live music on so we had to stop for a drink. We then ended up back later once we'd eaten because we loved it so much.

Before our train ride to Balatonfüred (on which I saw more sunflowers than I'd ever seen in my life) we headed down the Danube to a little island bit that sticks out called Kopaszi-gát. The sun was shining so we strolled along, sat at on the shore, and had a paddle.

We continued to walk the city into the evening to get the shot that everyone wants, the Parliament buildings looming over the Danube all lit up in the dark. If you want a better photo, check Matts Instagram.

Honestly, there were fields and fields of them!
We'd opted for accommodation a little different as we branched away from the cities and had booked a small caravan thing in someone's garden on Airbnb in Balatonfüred. You're never sure if these places are going to be as good as they look, but we weren't disappointed. We arrived, settled in, and then jumped on the bikes they had free to use to go check out the lake, and decide where we were going to spend the next day.
Our full day in Balatonfüred was primarily spent lakeside. We swam, sunbathed, read, played cards, and just had a super chilled out time. It was lovely!
So we're now on a coach to Zagreb which we had to get from Siofok, on the otherside of the lake, so we got a boat across which is always exciting! However the coach doesn't have a working loo so wish us luck🤞
Lots of love,
Lisa and Matt 💕
